How to use this category
Health pages estimate and label the estimate. Body composition, energy, hydration, dates, pace, blood pressure arithmetic, alcohol, insulin ratios, PEth bands, and prescribed pet doses each have their own inputs. Nothing here diagnoses, prescribes, or clears a person to drive. If a page asks for a ratio or a milligram-per-kilogram figure, that number has to come from the clinician or veterinarian. The page will not invent it from weight alone.
Health numbers on this shelf are screening arithmetic and planning arithmetic. They are not a consult. BMI and the Navy tape do not see the same body. Mifflin and Harris-Benedict do not return the same basal rate, so the BMR page prints both. A calorie target built from a fast weekly loss can fall below a floor the page will warn you about. Due dates and ovulation dates assume a cycle story you have to confirm. Insulin math waits for prescribed ratios. Pet volume waits for a prescribed milligram per kilogram. PEth bands are research cut-points with a label that labs disagree. Alcohol estimates use Widmark and then tell you not to drive. Mean arterial pressure is a short formula from two cuff readings, not a monitor printout. A refill date leaves a gap on purpose so a pharmacy has time to respond. Water intake is a starting point from weight, not a medical order. Ideal-weight formulas disagree on purpose so one brand name cannot monopolise the answer. If you need a diagnosis, you are in the wrong building. If you need to see how a public formula behaves, you are in the right one. Read the caution beside the form before you copy a figure into anything that looks like a plan.
The cards above are the whole category, with one sentence on the job each page actually does. Open a page when that sentence matches the decision in front of you. If the sentence is close but the assumption is wrong, read the comparison section on the page before you copy a number into a report, a bid, or a lesson plan.
Worked examples are prefilled so the first result is auditable. Change one input and the ticket updates. The essay under the ticket walks the same arithmetic in sentences, then a second example, then the move that most often breaks the definition. Five questions at the end answer the objections a careful reader raises after seeing the figure. That structure is repeated because the habit of checking is the point, not because the formulas are the same.
Internal links leave this category only when the next formula genuinely lives next door. A standard deviation page may point at variance and at a t test. It should not point at a decking calculator. If you arrived from search on a broad word, use the one-sentence descriptions to discard the near misses. Near misses are how people report a p-value from a test they did not run.
Each worksheet in Health and Body keeps one H1, a canonical URL that matches the tool name, and meta text sized for search snippets. The steps are part of the page, not a hidden modal. If you teach from these pages, project the ticket and the assumptions together so students see the same definition you graded against.
When two tools in Health and Body look alike, read the blurb under each name before you commit. The difference is usually a divisor, a critical value, a waste percent, or a caution that belongs on one page and not the other. That difference is why the URLs stay separate.

Questions people ask next
01How do I pick a page in Health and Body?
Read the one-sentence job under each name. Choose the page whose inputs match the information you actually have. If you have raw scores, do not open a page that asks only for a published r. If you have a known population sigma, the z test is available. If you do not, it is not.
02Are the formulas on these pages the same with different titles?
No. Titles match the job. Where two pages share algebra, the extra fields differ and the steps say so. Slovin does not apply a design effect. Yamane's page does. Wald is shown under Wilson, and Wilson is the headline on the proportion interval.
03Can I rely on a result from this category alone?
You can rely on the arithmetic if the inputs and the named assumptions are right. You cannot treat a health, pay, or legal-adjacent figure as personal professional advice. The disclaimer applies across the site, and sensitive pages repeat the limit beside the form.
04Why is the writing under the form so long?
Because a bare number is easy to misuse. The essay records the definition, a full example, a second example, and the mistakes that change the result. The length is the teaching, not a spacer.
05Where is the full list if this category is not the one I need?
Open All calculators from the header, or use search. Blogs linked from individual pages argue a single point at more length and are dated 25-10-2026.
